OFFER OF THE CENTER

The Presentation and Education Center Tikveš is a newly renovated facility suitable for all ages. With a multimedia interactive story using the most modern technology, you have the opportunity to get to know the flora and fauna of the Kopački rit Nature Park, as well as the historical timeline and all the historical figures who made Tikveš Castle recognizable. Along with a one-hour tour of the entire castle and its annex, there are interactive exhibits that tell their own story.

TOUR OF THE PRESENTATION AND EDUCATION CENTER TIKVEŠ

A visit to the interior of the castle includes a tour of the exhibits which are located in the annex and the castle. The annex of the castle, which was built in the interesting octagon shape, offers a unique experience of the natural riches of Kopački rit through multimedia and interactive exhibits. You can take a look of several different rooms that display rich flora and fauna. Afterwards, through a corridor that is symbolically called the marshy canal, you are entering the castle, which hides the mysterious story of all the historical figures who left their mark in the castle and the area of Tikveš.

PHOTO BOOTH

The photo booth is located in two locations inside the castle, and all visitors who want to take a photo can choose between a photo with the ghost of Isabella von Habsburg or in the landscape of Kopački rit.

Its possible to get physical photos when upon exiting.

VR TECHNOLOGY

Virtual reality gives every visitor the opportunity to dive into the depths of Kopački rit’s lakes with the help of special VR glasses to hunt and learn about various types of indigenous fish from the Nature Park area. This exhibit is located in the Old Castle (Ladanjska Vila) and available on weekends.

SOUVENIR SHOP

There is also a souvenir shop at the entrance to the castle with the offer of handicrafts and craftsmen from Baranja area.

WALKING TRAIL

Walking trail extends next to the meadow in front of the castle and offers the experience of walking along the edge of the forest and resting on wooden benches with a view on the meadow where numerous historical figures like Prince Đorđe Karađorđević or Josip Broz Tito once hunted and walked.

CHILDREN’S PLAYGROUND

There is an adequately equipped children's playground in the vicinity of Old Castle (Ladanjska Vila) for children of all ages.

EDUCATIONAL TRAIL „OLD-ELM“

Forests and trails of Kopački rit are permanent places of individual and group recreation of visitors from urban areas and rural population. The recreational function of the forest is one of the most important functions for human health. The Old Elm educational trail is a forest hiking trail and is located north of the Tikveš Castle Complex. A total of 18 interpretation boards and 3 observatories were set up the trail. Interpretation boards are of an educational nature and provide a description of plants and animals that can be seen during the walk. Also, panels describing various interesting things have been set up, such as how the age of trees is determined, or forest fruits and their medicinal properties.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

Protecting, preserving and promoting the values of the Kopački rit Nature Park is the primary activity of the Park. Education of all structures of visitors through numerous educational programs is the basis for developing awareness of the importance of nature protection.

Educational programs are adapted to age and follow the content of school curricula. They include field teaching in addition to sports activities, environmental workshops, lectures and are interactive. Nature protection, richness of biodiversity, historical and cultural heritage are the topics of every educational program, and they are implemented by the staff of JUPP Kopački rit in agreement with educators, teachers, or professors. We offer educational programs based on the macroconcept of the forest and the macroconcept of water.
